What’s your sense that the Democrats taking the House means that they will now accomplish what they couldn’t when they controlled the White House?

Obama and his Democrat majority squandered all of their opportunity on Obamacare.

But they did sell an awful lot of guns with their anti-gun rhetoric.

The Supreme Court has already made clear that the 2nd Amendment is the law of the land. There are like three landmark cases. It upholds the right to own guns…and that isn’t this Supreme Court…but a much different version.

Even if a bill passes the house. It has to pass the senate…and if that happened. The Supreme Court over turns immediately. So conservatives need to find another scare tactic. This one has no validity.

Very little of what the Supreme Court does is “immediately.” It usually takes years for a case to come before them. In the mean time, particularly if it involves confiscation, a lot of irreversible damage can be done.

More disturbing was the written opinion of one of the three D.C. District Court Judges. She wrote that the Second Amendment did not apply to D.C. residents because D.C. is not a State.

You would be surprised there’s an auction site gun broker I think? I was scrolling through the list and you can pick up a 9mm for under $300. Not applicable to the well known manufacturers like Sig and Glock.

I wouldn’t be surprised. I own three handguns. A P229 .357SIG, a P239 .357SIG and a Taurus 82 revolver. I’ll pay a bit extra for quality vs plastic junk.

I got my Combat Commander and my Ruger 77 from Gunbroker auctions. The Colt was an astonishing deal. It was pretty much a throwaway bid on my part, but it held. The seller was surprised, too.

Occasionally you can get a good deal on a firearm. No doubt. However the point of owning/carrying a firearm is to save your life. Unless you’re poverty stricken, why would you want to skimp in this area? My P229 cost me over $1000 but it’s the best handgun I’ve ever fired and I feel confident in it. Why try to save money?

I agree that the typical definition of “assault rifle” is stupid, based on cosmetics rather than function. Nevertheless, the suggestion that Feinstein wanted to ban “every gun” is wildly inaccurate.

The quote was 100% accurate; the words in parentheses were not. She did not say that about “all guns,” she was talking about “assault weapons.” However, as Sneaky alluded to, it was an extremely broad definition of “assault weapons.” It would have even included any magazine fed, semi-auto .22 LR rifle.
