Why aren't you Catholic?

Catholorobics. Gets your exercise in.

Why not be Catholic? Frequent communion is the shortest and surest way to heaven. You can eat and drink the true body and blood, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.

Cathletics would have been a better choice.

hi guys! Nice to be back.
Nice look here now, like it.

1 Corinthians 9:24-27 New International Version (NIV)
The Need for Self-Discipline
24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training.

Should attend a Catholic wedding.
You will get a good squat workout. LOL

Not saying Catholics are bad people, but I do have some issues with the faith. This seems to be a long thread so I’m quite sure my gripes have been answered and/or addressed, but with this new board, scrolling through on my mobile device has become a challenge. LOL!
Here are my gripes…

  1. equal worship between Yeshua(Jesus) and Mary.
That’s a big thing with me and it’s not even biblical that Mary is held in such high regard equal to God in the flesh. Why are they praying to her? She does not save and redeem us from our sins.

  2. Traditions not grounded in scripture

  3. Heaven vs. Purgatory vs. hell

  4. The path to salvation is not works based.

  5. The inclusion of a, “go between”, with us and God. We don’t need a Pope, Bishop, Arch Bishop or priest, Christ is the only mediator between us and God

There is no worship of Mary. Worship belongs to God alone. Peter, Paul, Mary (and many, many others) are honored as Saints, not worshiped as God. Today the Church honors Saint Boniface, bishop and martyr.

Catholics request prayers from both the living and those who have passed on as both the living and those who have passed on make up the Body of Christ. Asking why we ask Mary to pray for us is like asking, “Why do you sometimes ask your Mom and best friend to pray for you?”

Tradition came before scripture. Do you have a specific tradition in mind?

Heaven: We are fully united with God.
Hell: We choose not to be united with God.
Purgatory: Final purification before being fully united with God.

The path is definitely “works” based. We are disciples of Jesus and he commanded us to feed the hungry, heal the sick, visit those in prison, give drink to the thirsty, teach the ignorant, spread the Gospel.

Salvation is a gift, freely given to those who love God and His ways. Those who love God and His ways spring into action. Scripture warns us that Jesus tends to spit the lukewarm out of his mouth.

Jesus did not need to appoint Twelve Apostles, yet he did. These Twelve went above and beyond, devoting their entire day to Christ and the Gospel. Most of us feel called to other things in life, but others are called to be of special service and special servants of God. Priests, Bishops, and Popes do not come between individuals and God. Rather they lead us in the ways of God; they point the way to God.

Do you need Jesus to go between you and God?

Hi. I’ll pass.

Because Obama promised Change! He didn’t lie. He brought America closer to being a Socialist/Anarchist Country. Why have religion and morals, when you can have Socialism, no morals, and Anarchy(Democrats).

I just got around to reading it too. Nothing like starting the day with a belly laugh.

Yes. He also taught that not all had to be married and Jesus’ teachings people devoting their lives to service to God and not getting married is the basis of priests not getting married. Yet somehow this is turned into marriage being something required for salvation.

Well, except for those that it is not required of. Which means it is not necessary.
