Standard 5.56 rifle. M-16A1 (junk), the A-2 had fore grip, rotary bolt and recoil spring changes; selector safe/ single/ three round burst (also junk). The A-3 changed to fully auto. When I left the MDNG in 1991 the A-2 was my issued rifle and a 1911 sidearm.
I think they now carry an M-4 (5.56) adjustable stock rail optics etc. and perhaps 9mm sidearms.
I had to look some of this info up because I no longer have interest in firearms after losing all of mine in a terrible boating accident years ago.

Exactly. When the White House was threatened Trump was mocked for sheltering. Police were criticized for using pepper spray. Trump response was to walk across the street with a Bible.

Capitol staff are lauded as victims and heroes. Police kill an unarmed woman and are celebrated. Congress looks outward for blame and wastes time on illegal impeachment.

I am secure with myself and my surrounding but I am fully aware that we are surrounded by many who are mentally weak, who are still “yelling at the sky”. That said, I’ll go my way and continue to give my best efforts to The Lord. It’s of far greater importance than the path libs are on right now, creating division, espousing hate and pointing their fingers.

On Thursday night during a virtual town hall, Delagate Eleanor Holmes Norton was asked by DC residents how long the National Guard will stay in DC and how long fencing will stay put, but no straight answers were given from speakers.

“The National Guard is conducting prudent planning for the eventual end of the security mission and the return of its Soldiers and Airmen to their home stations.”

We are waiting to hear back from Capitol Police on how much longer they will need the extra support from troops in the nation’s capital.
