and so they are out trying to get as many idiots as they can to actually believe this is due to a law in 2011 instead of the staggering ineptitude of this child clown administration
If the backlog of ships to be unloaded were due to a shortage of trucks because of CA law that was enacted in 2011, that is on the trucking companies for not preparing for it.
It’s a moot point because this problem is not due to a shortage of trucks. It is a systemic issue that is occurring globally and at other US ports and rail hubs.
Well the same thing is going to happen to Califs when the new year rolls around and very few pork producers have operations that fit the standards Califs voted into place years ago.
That one is gonna impact us all too.
Stupid Califs vote stupids laws into effect. Companies say, “Damn, that’s stupid. We’re not gonna comply…” Eventually the drop dead date rolls around, and … things drop dead.
Precisely why it’s gonna hurt the rest of us. Compliance with the regulation will be expensive.
Another approach would be for some hoggers to tool up to the new standards. Currently 4% comply now. (And their pork is more expensive.) Maybe another 11% will retool, and those 15% can service Calif with their expensive pork. The remaining 85% can sell to the rest of us just as they are today.
PS: If all hoggers comply, their expensive pork will never sell in Asia. Big market to lose there.
