Biden got a couple of agenda items through; failed on others so far. I am less concerned about the Build Back Better legislation, the voting rights legislation, and the continuing existence of the Affordable Care Act right now than I am about substantive Russian threats to international order (not to mention war crimes, broken nuclear taboos, etc.). But give me more important stuff to worry about–seriously.

How about US funded bio-weapon labs in Ukraine in danger of being captured by Putin?

Even if this claim made by the Russian government is true, it only supports my original point: it’s one more thing to be worried about in Ukraine, not DC.

I am curious, too. The article talks about the funding of one lab (among others) in a much different time. Also, do we distinguish between “biological research facilities” (which the US acknowledges) and “bioweapons labs,” which imply the active development of biological weapons? For example (and coincidentally), I am friends with someone at a US biotech start-up here that’s talked about one of their research labs in the Ukraine (not weapons). The State Department released an official statement:

They could be lying, or misleading, I guess.

Of course, it’s worth noting the claim about US maintaining bioweapons labs in Ukraine currently matches both Russian propaganda (and justifications), as well as the view of Qanon.

Fine. That is what is meant on soft on Russia? I thought it had some sort of implication of being soft on the invasion. I can only guess Trump might have thought excluding them from all activities with the western world might alienate rather than make them easier to deal with.
Now, compare that policy to Trumps wanting to cut off an oil pipeline from Russia to Germany because it gave Russia extra leverage, whereas Biden approved the pipeline.
Why is Biden soft on Putin?
