Unlikely that insurance companies mandate. Where is the money in that? If they want to make a killing just charge a much higher premium for the unvaccinated.

The money is in potential savings for hospitalizations and complications.

However, you are correct that they may just make the premiums higher for the unvaccinated.

As an employer, I pay 100% of the medical coverage for my employees and we have an excellent plan.

It may be that I will be forced to have the employees pay the difference if it gets so expensive that I can no longer afford to cover them at 100%.

I see your point. It would probably be better for you if they did mandate it. And some might. Maybe even more than just a few. But there will be some that don’t, just to make a buck. After all, insurance is their business. Think about it, how much money can they make using higher premiums as opposed to what they could save by mandating it. Their business model suggests the higher premium route.

Oddly enough my job is completely ignoring the virus. In fact, throughout this entire pandemic they had a shortage in janitorial. No one ever came out to clean the work areas. Still they don’t. If you want a mask or a clean work surface, you’re on your own. We’re lucky someone comes out and empties the garbage cans. Business as usual. We have no outbreaks. We never had outbreaks.

The firefighters and paramedics union said no one is shoving anything down their throats. I just looked. But before I looked I didn’t know they were union. Just like us. They’re not telling us what to do.

This is why I have always loved unions even though I lean heavily to the right. Your job doesn’t own you. And my healthcare is the same as everyone else’s. No higher premiums due to lifestyle.
