From my vantage point, you have completely misunderstood and misinterpreted what Trumpism is and who Trumpism represents. You’re looking for complex and nuanced 1990’s politics (or 1960’s politics) in baseline politicking. This simply isn’t that complicated.

3 years ago we could’ve had this debate and thrown substantial arguments around. Donald Trump changed all of that. There is no old guard versus new guard. No man behind the curtain.

I said it before but this is way more visceral and base than any of those old school political discussions. Accept reality or don’t. But it’s the truth. This is the Idiocracy. This is lowest common denominator politics.

Could be. Start a thread.

Every living and breathing American. Check the news. We have about 138,000 of them dead in the last few months. 4% of the global population and 25% of the casualties.

Realignment. remember the flack I’ve taken for call it during the 2016 election.

And that is ridiculous. In 2007, Bush was the monster. Everybody coalesced to get rid of Bush. Obama didn’t have a vision? The True Believers supporting him didn’t?

There is no realignment. There is no grand plan or changing of the guard. There is Trumpism and then there is everyone and everything else.

Someone isn’t able to see the forest.

Political realignment is taken place as we speak. Some that most of us hadn’t witness in our lifetimes. One that is direct threat to establishment…on both sides.

This isn’t 2007. This isn’t 2012. This isn’t 2016. You’re missing the point still.

Seriously, stop please.

Because you’re focusing on Trump and not what is going behind the scene.

No. It really isn’t. There is not some super secret meaning behind this all. There is literally just Trumpism and then there is everything else. Sorry to spoil your grand plans and beliefs here. But it’s just not even in the same realm as reality.

It’s not my fault if you can’t accept it and want to find some secret meaning behind it all. Good luck with the apophenia. :+1:

The shift of the riots shook the core. Who got DiBlasio to agree to disband the anti-crime unit?

There is no man behind the curtain. Sorry, there just isn’t.

My God…is this what the left has become…visionless?

This is simply not true and hasn’t been since we switched to all popular primaries. If it was true, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, Trump and John McCain never happen, just off the top of my head.

It is true. The GOP didn’t pick Trump, they did pick McCain.

I reminder your vision for realignment being slightly different than everyone from leftists to moderate Republicans uniting behind a Democrat.

I thought for sure you would be the one. I’m not talking about Biden or even the Presidency.

McCain was a dark horse who won at the last possible second and was absolutely crippled in the general by a lack of money. Romney was the establishment pick in 2008.

If the establishment or whatever actually picked candidates, instead of the ones I mentioned it would have been Paul Simon (the senator), Hillary Clinton, Marco Rubio and Romney, respectively.
