Who is the Enemy?

Here is a brief list of things the Right and eft tend to hate.

On the Right we have:

FBI
CIA
CDC
EPA
DOE
DOD

BLM
Antifa

Media:

CNN
MSNBC
ABC
NBC
CBS
NPR
Mediaite
Salon
Slate
Twitter
Facebook

On the Left:

Trumpworld

RightWing Radio
Fox
Breitbart

Proud Boys
Right wing militia groups

Polarization has been increasing rapidly over the past 20 years and especially in the last 5. So…is there any way out of this “silo-ing” or is this just how life will be from now on?

Things may seem bad right now, but take heart - it’s going to get a LOT worse.

How about California’s asinine regulations covering semi trucks servicing the ports?

Those driving people to the far right and far left have to stop the process. Those people are politicians and talking heads mostly. I think the average person heading toward the end of the spectrum has lost the ability to turn the ship around. Since those “driving” the polarization tend to gain from it, no I don’t see it changing anytime soon.

On the left you forgot the police, Christians/church, capitalism, freedom, Constitution, individualism, white males, heterosexuals, list just goes on and on.

I don’t see it really increasing. There’s been polarization since before the 60s. Social media has just made it much more visible in the last decade. Communism, hippies, terrorists, marxism… There’s always a Boogeyman.

You should make a list of the things the right and the left tend to love. Americans have a lot more in common than you would realize from listening to politicians and watching the news.

Oooh I love that- I gotta go for a bit but I’m happy to see that list.

There simply isn’t much of the old extreme Left that’s extreme to the Left anymore. That’s why so much looks like the far Right to folks … not that the Left’s bogeyman has changed at all but that they have veered course. This should have been obvious to everyone the moment Sanders openly caucused with the Democrats, obviously confident that he would no longer be a liability to their base.

Whether things get better or worse, it’s a win for me. Y’all get to make that decision amongst yourselves, I’ll be there for the ride.

Actually, Robert Welch Jr WAS RIGHT in so many ways, and it’s a pity Buckley and others wanted an pointy headed, ivory tower conservatism rather than wanting to fight.

This just shows that the Birchers won the fight for the GOP.

“forgot?”. doubt it

What about borders, ICE, any business that can’t afford to pay a “living wage.”

No.

The DNC are like that marching band in Animal House. People with malevolent intentions have led them to turn left into a dead end alley and now they’re all bunched up at the end. Not only do they pretend they’re where they should be and keep trying to play they’re doing the band one better by being mad at everyone back on main street who didn’t veer hard Left with them, calling ordinary people things like fascist because their whole world view is distorted by socialistic ideological filth … never mind the baby killing etc.

Are you looking at leaving the country?

Because those are all incorrect and based on right wing broad brushing. Heck, ever heard of the Episcopal Church?

Anyone in 2021 saying that Robert Welch was right shows that the Birchers won the fight for the GOP.

it is just how it is now.

Congrats? I guess?

Shhhh… we all know that there are no religious liberals.

This post is a big part of the issue in my opinion. Some have the idea that one side is “evil” and the other is “good.” Or that one side is “just” and the other “indefensible.” No person or political party is infallible or beyond reproach. That means Democrats and Republicans.
