When the then-energy secretary accidentally helped lead the president into impeachment, he was simultaneously trying to help his friends cash in on a big gas deal.

Well it looks like he was part of a kind of hinky deal to get a no bid contract into Ukraine to provide Liquid Natural Gas in ships to the country to sell to Europe. So the hinkyness comes through in that a small company formed in 2018 called Louisiana Natural Gas Exports Inc. Well this company own no assets, no fields, so deals… nothing.

So this company is at the top of the pile of getting a no bid contract to ship LNG to Ukraine worth Billions of dollars.

So one might ask what is in it for Perry?

So once a preliminary deal with Ukraine was hammered out, the small Louisiana company went to another company called Energy Transfer for help with a gas terminal. This was after Perry left as Secretary of Energy and retook a seat on the board that he left to serve for a company called… checks notes… Energy Transfer.

So yeah… that’s cool.
