How did Trump respond differently to this epidemic differently than the 5 before him did to theirs?
Cute, this game you’re playing.

If you get burned by allowing politics to cloud your vision, guess what will happen?
You won’t want to get burned.
Where is the evidence that the WHO took part in a coverup here? Serious question.
You are correct we have democratic governors leading at a state level but the President responds has responsibility for the federal response to this crisis as well as being a leader for all Americans. He listens to the experts around him and he is the one making the decisions. He is the one holding the daily press briefings.
As I have said before I have seen flashes of leadership from Trump during this crisis but he seems to be incapable of doing this for prolonged periods of time before he reverts back to personalizing everything.

No. It isn’t.
The Governors are responsible for their State. Not the President.
Since they are all different, I can’t respond. The closest is H1N1 but still not a great comparison
It was stupid when Obama said and worthy of being critical of him and its stupid now when Trump does it.
But lets deal with the here and now. Obama is not President and has not been President for 4 years.
If Biden wins in November and in 4 years time we are hit with another pandemic I certainly will not accept him blaming Trump or anyone else.
Since joining this forum in 2004 I have been consistent in being critical of all politicians from all sides. I refuse to follow blindly any politician or anyone for that matter.

I am talking about the federal response. You are absolutely right, at the state level the governors are responsible but the federal government does have a responsibility to provide support for the states.
When you have a situation that is engulfing the globe with multiple countries all wanting the same resources the Federal government has much more power than any state governor and they have to step up.
I think behind the scenes Pence is doing a first rate job of facilitating the federal response it is Trump that is proving to be a hindrance.
I do hope when this is all over Pence is recognized for acting more like a President and leader than Trump could ever hope to.

No, it isn’t a serious question.
You’re a well informed person.
The evidence has been out there for months. Why did Trump defund W.H.O.? What did Taiwan send to W.H.O. and why did they disregard it? How many Chinese scientists and doctors sound the alarm bell only to be silenced?
If it is a serious question then research objectively.
Absolutely right and that is why the WHO leadership needs to be held to account but now is not the time.Just like now is not the time to start an investigation into the federal response to this.
Viruses happen. But they don’t necessarily become pandemics on their own.

Trump put him in charge of this. So, really you are giving credit to Trump for choosing the right people to handle the job at hand. Regardless of whether you like his style or not.

I stand by my post. We’re doing too much blaming. Look at the headlines on just about any news feed or aggregating site. Headline after headline of “X blames Y…” and “B accuses A…” and “Partisan Battle lines Drawn over Testing…” and “This-Retired-Expert says That…” and “That-celebrity says This…” and “Such-and-such Lab is Rushing…” and “Vaccine still 18 Months Away…”
and on and on.
Blame is taking up cycles that should be going into fixing things. People who should be moving things forward instead have to waste PR capital on playing defense.
Rome is burning. But the blame game (definitely amplified by the media) is playing the role of Mordred in Camelot.
Absolutely I give credit for putting Pence in charge. I actually said that in a post a few weeks ago.
I have said this time and time again, Trump has made some good decisions and his handling of this pandemic has not been a total failure, in posts above I have talked about how we have seen flashes of leadership but he is the President and I hold the President (whoever they are) to a higher standard than other politicians because of the office he/she holds.
But Pence’s success is not Trumps success. Pence has worked tirelessly on this and its his leadership and his team that should get the vast majority of the recognition for ensuring this pandemic is minimized as much as possible.

There is not better time than to hold WHO leadership accountable. This is supposed to be their FUNCTION.
Federal response? Trump did everything in his power to help all of the States that were ill prepared. An investigation is going to fall flat, waste more taxpayer dollars and come out sounding like sour grapes (again).
The dem’s response to this crisis was abysmal.
If there is any investigation it will be more egg on the face of the democrats.

Even more, he implied that one started here, and we hid it, and that was the cause of the pandemic.
I missed that day in history class, I guess.
