There was never a more evangelical Christion than the Apostle Paul. He defines the term.
In Romans 13, Paul wrote to honor, obey, respect and pay tribute to the governing authorities because they were installed by God.

Paul wrote this after living under butchers, murderers and sexual perverts like Tiberius, Caligula, Claudius and Nero.

Liberals who try to play the Christian card against Trump, have no idea what they’re talking about.

Romans 13 is no way applicable to the situation at hand. We don’t live in an absolute dictatorship. We live in a constitutional republic. We the People are Caesar. We choose what our government looks like. Evangelicals have shown where they stand.

This is a contemporary line of reasoning of course just because of having to rationalize. I think you used to be on the old forums – remember how people used to say that they could never vote for someone who cheated on their spouse? Because if they cheated on their spouse how can you trust them to not cheat on their country… similar arguments about voting for someone who didn’t serve in the military… yeah that whole line of reasoning disappeared in the Trump era.
