I can’t speak to farming, but I suspect with the subsidies most will weather the storm. I also suspect they will change what they grow to meet demand elsewhere and charge premium prices for it.
China is currently tapping reserves for soybeans and buying from South America (at a premium). It is a waiting game, a game of chicken. China knows we elect presidents every four years so they can gamble that the tides will turn in their favor.
I’d rather pay subsidies to our farmers, weather and win the trade war than I would build hospitals and bridges in foreign countries.
I’m sucking it up in my business and I’m not complaining.
Of course they are, they are being killed by cheap Chinese imports which is part of what this administration is trying to solve by renegotiating our trade deals.
