The Senate, and House, can hold hearings on pretty much anything they want to.

The official hearings were completed when this was reopened based on Democrats and Frisk. So yes, this was not a normal hearing. Biden was in the Senate when this is alleged, and this was part of Senate business…nexus enough.
Actually I was looking more for logical/factual arguments that compelled one’s position.

Is he getting confirmed for something?

Fair point. Why not bring her in as well and hold a hearing for this?
The timing is politically motivated. Running for President or nominated to the SC? Oh yeah, once upon a time…
I don’t really believe either one of them. I think what was done to kavanuagh was improper And actually petty and disgusting.
I think Biden should keep running. I don’t believe her either. I think as @Ben_Natuf said there was a harassment complaint.
For what? For him to stop running. No not to me.
25 lawsuits. Or is it 23. Meh.
Appreciate and respect the movement. As with everything it started with some and i emphasize some good intentions and turned into shaming.
They all do. That’s why we can’t have nice things.
“I thought her testimony was very compelling and she looks like a very fine woman to me, very fine woman,” Trump said of Ford while speaking to reporters on Friday. “It was an incredible moment I think in the history of our country,” he continued. “But certainly [Ford] was a very credible witness. She was very good in many respects.”
Is it normal to obstruct picking a scotus during an election year?
What happened wasn’t “obstruction”, it was the normal process playing out. YES, it’s normal to delay a vote until after an election if the opening happens in an election year. I suspect if there was an opening today, you would be screaming that we should wait until November. Hell, your side engaged in dirty politics to try to prevent a nominee from being seated. At least what Republicans did was #1. Not without precedent. #2. Well within their confirmation powers. #3. Handed the power to the American people to decide who should get the next pick.

Just because Democrats do it doesn’t mean we should.
