Because Samm…we still need to reach about 80 to 90 percent immune to protect people who cannot get the vaccine for health reasons or for who the vaccine does not confer immunity.

Polio has almost been eradicated. Thanks to anti vaxxers it remains just out of reach.

Measles and pertussis was basically gone from this country.

Now with Covid… people are still anti vaccine.

It is not rooted in any sort of logic or sense.

Thankfully these people did not exist like this when smallpox was eradicated or we would still have that plague on earth.

I know so many parents who want to have an answer as to what caused their baby to have Autism…And it isn’t just moms…dads blame themselves too.

The facts are, Autism happens…it isn’t vaccines, but because it’s onset happens at about the time toddlers get their MMR vaccination it’s an easy blame. So you have a whole movement of parents out there telling people don’t get vaccines, don’t get the MMR, and your child will not get autism. And because you have a coincidental timeline that lines up with the MMR, they have made it cause and effect when it truly is just coincidental.

To answer your question directly, they weren’t used. It also misses the whole point.

The kind of planning that was going on in NYC is not normal at all. From my experience, this kind of planning is only done when you’re in the middle of a mass casualty kind of event like a nuclear bomb going off. Not normal at all.

I’ve been watching this thread evolve, and I see two camps of though here, and I honestly believe these are the two main opinions right now in America. I’m going to attempt to summarize them.

One school of thought seems to want to unleash the US nuclear arsenal on the problem. Their mantra seems to me to be the following: better crispy than covid.

The other school of thought seems to think there is nothing going on in the US outside of normal cold and flu season. Their mantra can be summed up in one word; denial.

I officially feel sorry for incoming President Biden. I now highly doubt his answers (which I expect will be the Trump response with different packaging) are going to make anyone happy.

The vaccine is Trump’s ball. The reason that we have it in December 2020 is because Donald Trump refused to take “No” for an answer.

This narrative that “Trump dropped the ball” is absurd and based on lies, half-truths and raging emotions. There are a couple of things that could have been done better, but a bobble is not a drop. Everybody always has 20/20 vision, but only looking back.

The credit belongs to the man in the arena…

you may be right on this Sneaky…But there was no Miracle either. Moderna has been working on mRNA vaccines with NIH for about 10 years. That was not because of Trump. What his because of Trump is that we have this vaccine ready to go in a short period of time. I give him credit for that. But I also haven’t said anything to the contrary either.

All I really ever pointed out here yesterday was the reason why we should all be concerned about others taking the vaccine. Nothing more than that…Yet I seem to have incurred some wrath. My bad. I will tread more lightly from now on…

I have not missed that. I expected that. I will say that Trump was smart enough to charge these companies with doing it, and got the hell out of the way. He did that right. Of course you have, you just did it again. You need to look at the history of the bureaucracy and “approvals”. Look at Fauci’s history.

If a 47 year in government President had been in the chair, we’d be waiting another 2 years minimum.
