Not being able to see it, does not mean it does not exist…

The term is inherently antagonistic. It’s better to say there is national white hegemony. The system was created by white people of American white culture. Thus the “system” is geared towards that sort of person. It’s how people like me, who are black, get around white society pretty well despite my skin color. Because culturally speaking, I’m white. People who don’t live that culture have a harder time with the system.

Not to say I haven’t experienced racism. Because I have. Mostly that personal racism, not so much state sanctioned. But I’m not going to say it never happens. Just saying that it’s something I don’t have a lot of problems with.

A black barbershop in a black neighborhood hiring non-black barbers would literally make no sense. Our hair isn’t like white people’s. It requires a certain kind of care to make nice that most white barbers and hair stylists aren’t heavily experienced with.

Not saying they can’t do it. I have a white friend who’s good at doing black hair because she has two mixed daughters. But she’s pretty unique in that regard. Cause she took the time to learn it. My mom was lazy and just took me as a kid to my black grandmothers for her to style my hair when I was young.

Me now? I just avoid the problem entirely by shaving my head. Kind of sucks though. I always wanted a Jheri Curl or a High Top.

What is this? A sociology class? No I’m not going to write you a paper.

:rofl::joy:

Unfortunately, that’s the main reason why they use it.

It really is the main problem with dems in my view. Dear lord if they had a candidate running on secure borders, single payer healthcare and dropped the woke crap I would look into it.

First ever vote was for Bush jr’s second term then happily voted for Obama not wanting anymore of that. Things started changing before his second term though and DACA ruined them for me. Then it’s just went downhill from there gamer gate - third wave feminism - blm - now this gender fluid icky stuff.

Change back bro :sunglasses: working man - single payer - secure the border

Your tribe has been doing it for decades. Your gender especially.

Sort of. You don’t have to be in the majority to have hegemony. It certainly helps, especially in a 'Mocracy!

All “privilege” means in this context is the benefit of the, the preconception of correctness without evidence or fact.

So yes, there is black privilege in this country today. For example, a conflict between a black person and a white person and an accusation of racism is thrown in.

The default position is going to be no matter who else did what, the white person used a slur or did something else “racist.” And sometimes they do.

I am experienced gentleman, educated, traveled some, speak two languages. I haven’t used “that word” in I don’t know how long. Multiple decades.

But if somebody claims I did, everybody who doesn’t know me will say, “From where? Oh yeah, that happened.”

The Woke have done an excellent job of conditioning us to leap to that conclusion.

So yes, there is “black privilege.”

If you want another example of privilege, listen to Bill Burr’s bit on hitting women.

Thanks for the mention, I’m honored.

Is there such a thing as black privilege?

Absolutely. Makes one wonder if blm grifters are going to use the ill gotten gains to steer conversation

For real. She’s too young. She saw the end of it as youngster. But that’s not the same thing as being an actual adult trying to make a living at that complicated time.
