Bill Melugin on Fox just did a story standing in front of apparently a currently closed border crossing in Arizona…it’s been closed in response to a surge of migrants…

“ U.S. Customs and Border Protection will be temporarily suspending operations on Monday at a border crossing in Lukeville, Arizona, in order to free up agents to deal with what they call “increased levels of migrant encounters” at the border “fueled by smugglers peddling disinformation to prey on vulnerable individuals.”

Border officials said they are redirecting all vehicle and pedestrian traffic to other ports of entry in the area.

The agency told ABC News that the Tucson sector, where Lukeville is located, is currently seeing the most migrant encounters of any area along the southern border with Mexico.

On Friday, the sector’s chief patrol agent, John Modlin, said there had been around 17,500 migrant apprehensions over the course of a week. I have no problem with immigrants who seek asylum be dispersed among all states equally. Not a fan of political stunts of governors putting them on a plane to a state with no prior discussion with that state.

For those who want to immigrate to the US for economic reasons we need a fast workable system that allows individuals to apply from outside the US.

However, no country has a duty to accept economic migrant’s.

Maybe we should be working with those countries that have the highest number of economic migrants to the US in helping to alleviate conditions in those countries to stem the flow.

Apart from what we are seeing here This is a global problem with millions on the move in search of a better life. There are no easy solutions.

I doubt this is feasible but why not attempt a global effort at identifying some area of the planet where economic migrants are encouraged to settle to create a new country. This new country would have assistance in creating its infrastructure and establishing itself.

The federal government dumps them on Texas and then sues if Texas tries to,defend its own border. The federal government isn’t concerned that Texas is receiving more than they can handle and isn’t willing to work with Texas to control this.

Left leaning states believe remain in Mexico is bad but remain in Texas is good.

Of course. Economic migrants have no inherent right to relocate to another country.

And yes if I was born into a poor country and lived a life of poverty I am sure I would want to cross the border but that does not mean countries do not have the right to decide who enters their borders.

Open border policy is ridiculous and dangerous. Those on the left who call for that are idiots. Do they want to extend to airports etc so anyone getting off a plane or boat just enters with no checks, no passpirt control, no nothing?
