Who will it spread to?

To other people that don’t take the vaccine.

Exactly. So, people who are willing to bear the risk of contracting a disease and are willing to face the challenge of fighting it in order to get stronger, won’t be allowed that choice, even though wimps who are afraid of disease and death can get vaccinated against catching it, and can sit out the fight themselves?

I’m not quite following. I followed the first part, it’s the 2nd that has me a bit puzzled. I don’t see why it needs to be mandatory. If you don’t vaccinate, you’re not harming anyone that chooses to do so.

I’m agreeing with you, TC.

No, it shouldn’t be mandated for 2 reasons.

  1. It provides way too much open space for the government to broaden mandating behaviors based on the ā€œpublic goodā€.

  2. Education is sufficient to produce behavior in this type of matter. Even with the anti-vaxx contingent doing what they do, vaccines are still largely effective. Not everything is a nail that needs a hammer.

Ok, yeah I kind of see it now.

The great thing about this is that when all the nitwits try to get themselves and their kids out of taking this vaccine, state governments will eliminate all the ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  exemptions they use to get around it.

We’re not going to get an answer. Just crap post after crap post.

Wait. Wut? You think getting vaccinated so you dont get sick or die is being a wimp? What other facets of life do you think preventative measures to avoid unnecessary suffering make people wimps?

Stopping tree-climbing and bull-rush at schools.

I’ll give you those.

What about wearing shoes? Ibuprofen?

I’m not talking about mandating things. I’m talking eschewing ppreventatives in general

You’re diverting down a rabbit trail. Who will an unvaxed person pass disease on to?

Definitely an rabbit trail. The statement just struck me as odd. That’s all.

There is no logic for it.

Just bitterness and a lust to cast aspersion on someone else.

Other unvaccinated people. People who because of medical issues, can get vaccinated.

I get that, but promising the kids a carrot is not going to accomplish anything since it’s the parent giving their permission, not the kids positive reaction from offering them a carrot.

No, mandating vaccinations would be little different than mandating abortions.

You can justify a mandate for state and federal employees and for attendance at public schools but you get beyond that and we’re talking about a gross violation of civil rights.

Right after you get the entire Bill of Rights rescinded.

Part 2…you actually are. The recent measles outbreak is a good example.
Take 100 people 99 get vaccinated and one does not. There is always a small percentage of people in the group in which a vaccine does not take. It has no effect. Say I choose not to get vaccinated…i get sick, and pass it to you and two others for which the vaccine did not take.

If you had been vaccinated you would not get sick and not pass it on. The heard, protects the 2 or 3 of those for which the vaccine had no or little effect. If all 100 in the group are vaccinated, it’s less likely the immune compromised will get sick.

This is why, at least for now it needs to be mandatory. You need 80 to 95 percent of the herd to be vaccinated to protect those who are maybe compromised due to cancer, lupus, or other immuno-compromising ailments. The herd protects those few.
