Human nature is not too unlike the nature of living things. The goal is to reproduce and to succeed. Human culture (let’s call it self-consciousness) has added a different layer to that meaning.

And so?

I like this, I would say $100. It shouldn’t cost $1B to get elected to national office. My guess is the media ends up with most of it.

Speaking of which…

We need to curb government waste and the gross amounts that taxpayer dollars pay for goods and services. I just can’t believe how we constantly hand out multi billion dollar contracts and then allow the contractors the ability to charge big bucks for over-runs.

I think he’s saying we (humans) will not be the ones to impose it…but it will happen because physics.

My vision for the country is more people…including me…realizing that the solutions to any problem that faces us as a nation does not lie within one political or ideological worldview.

And that we think more holistically and long term.

I’m probably wishing for the impossible, but you never know…

Public health is my passion.

Very noble. I would offer that simply increasing life expectancy is not much of a goal in my mind. And I’m pretty sure your proposal would not increase it materially.

Community programs that emphasis healthy eating, changing school breakfast and lunch menus, nutrition education, regular screenings for cancer. Overall, breaking through the barriers that keep people from the doctor and diagnostic procedure is the goal, which universal healthcare should, in theory, promote.

It would. If we cleaned the heavy metals, our murder rate alone would drop precipitously. Public health has done more to extend life than medicine.

put things in the hands of the free market! for cry sakes, this betters everything

healthcare needs market competition. not 5 hour cabadian waiting lines for subpar care

no more ■■■■■■■ legalizing drugs. unless you dont think society is ■■■■■■ enough

education is fine enough. it’s ■■■■■■ parents and welfare anti-teacher anti-achievement culture thats the problem

and now anti-cops because racist leftist idiots think they are the problem. not their gangs and hood ghettos

whew! < lights up ciggy >

That is ridiculous and you know it. They kill because they like it.

I don’t think I’m being clear. “Extending life” is not much of a goal in and of itself.

Public health is not what determines the length of your life. Genetics and lifestyle are. I believe stress is the root cause of most diseases and is what kills us.

That’s fine SixFoot, but don’t have the government pay for drug abuse treatment.

Of course stress is a part of it. There are multiple factors at work, of which public health is meant to address.

And, you may reject the role of lead and heavy metals poisoning, but it is real. If you overlay a map of lead contaminated Baltimore and the worse neighborhoods, they overlap.

No, it isn’t real. Young men kill because they like it.

“Lead contaminated”. yeah.

No 3, 4 and 8 are very good in my opinion. I would also be willing to look at a better healthcare system so far everything passed has just made things more expensive for the majority of people.

Thanks to all who participated civilly and in the spirit.

My company will end up with a nice buck this out via television commercials paid for by candidates.

Media is how you get your message out there to the voters.
