What's the dems solution to the trade deficit?

You already forgot about 30 years of stagnant wages?

Which China regularly steals.

If china steals the cure, the owner of the IP rights loses money.

Well?.. …

And there is a remedy.

Wages are up. Wealth is up too. Trade deficit didn’t do anything to stop that.

Are you brushing your teeth with Chinese made toothpaste?

Reducing the trade deficit doesn’t necessarily make anyone richer.

If company X exports 100k gadgets in 2017 before the tariffs, and ends up exporting the same in 2018 after, for the same price, they do not become richer. If, however, company Y from China ships less goods into the US because of tariffs, then the trade deficit reduces because while company X is holding steady, company Y sells less to the US market.

So your answer certainly is too simplistic and not reality.

As to why other countries protect their markets, there could be a variety of reasons. But the United States protects quite a bit with subsidies, particularly on agriculture. Should we end all subsidies?

There could be reasons is not an answer… But, I didn’t expect one from the left.

We have become the wealthiest nation on earth despite running trade deficits for 30+ years.

Why do you think that is?

Did you bother to read the link?

You got an answer.

Just not an overly-simplistic one.

Every issue in the world isn’t resolvable into a nice sound byte.

I got directed to some website. NO answers. Because he has none, just like you don’t. But keep pretending, it’s what dems do.

Tell me…what constitutes “an answer” in your mind?

Of course, because that has already worked sloop well. /sarcasm.

You should try reading.

A number of these rules have not yet been tested against China or any other country – which is not proof they will not work. Generally, when tried for the first time, WTO rules have been found to work, and, generally, when China has been found to be acting inconsistently with its WTO obligations, it has complied with WTO rulings. The actual extent of Chinese compliance with WTO judgments can be questioned; in some instances it is seen by some as only “paper compliance.” But whether any one WTO rule can in fact be enforced cannot be known if no WTO Member bothers to try to enforce it.

Maybe your wife can teach you.

Yes- and treating everybody as an adversary that must be beaten has been known to work SOOO well, too…

The reasons other countries protect their markets…

It’s a lazy dodge from you have to answer the question, so no…

Pick the best reason, they have and post it.
