Don’t be stupid. It is in the credible fear screening.
Why would someone seek asylum from a country and government they do not reside in?
I’m not saying that.
One can claim asylum from their home country… and the asylum claim doesn’t necessarily need to be against their government.
In other words… you don’t need the government from your home country to do anything to you… in order to claim asylum in the US
yes, according to our asylum law. if they are not subject to persecution, they are not eligeable
thats false, the government would either have to persecute you, or fail to protect you from persecution. And its not any persecution, its religion, political, race, ethnicity. If the cartel is after you, go see your local police, you don’t qualify

you’re confused again. we were discussing dems in congress
And that persecution does not need to be perpetuated by the government in order to have a valid asylum claim.
who in mexico is being persecuted for religion, politics, race or ethnicity?

Do you think I personally know everyone’s reason for claiming asylum from Mexico?
Please provide evidence showing that the persecution must be from the government of their home country.
ez-pz
That would be the applicable section of the law
Says absolutely nothing about the government being required to persecute in order for a valid asylum claim.
Try again.
Have you tried looking at the asylum claim application?
either persecuted by, or failed to protect from.
No-one in Mexico has a valid asylum claim

You keep adding in ■■■■ that isn’t there. You have no provided the requirement that the must persecute in order for asylum to be valid.
Have you tried looking at the actual application for asylum?
I’m not adding in anything. Its in the law

Where does it say persecution must be government anywhere in that statement?
did you miss it?
Either persecuted by the government or failed to be protected from persecution and only for the ascribed reasons; politics, religion, race, ethnicity.

This is key to me. Venezuelans traveling by land to the USA have to travel through a half dozen countries to get to the USA border. Once they cross a border and are out of the alleged risks they faced in their home country, they are no longer under conditions that warrant asylum in the USA. And if they faced those same conditions in Colombia, then they’re no longer at risk in Panama, or Costa Rica. Or they can hop off the train in Belize.
And it’s not just Venezuelans. How is it that we’re getting Chinese nationals wading across the Rio Grande? Libyans. Jordanians. Etc. Whatever alleged persecution they experienced in their homeland is no longer haunting them in South America.
At least, make them stay in Mexico until their asylum application gets processed. If Mexico doesn’t like that, they can deal with whatever pipeline is funneling these persecutees onto Mexican soil.
