Trump is authoritarian in demanding kids and teachers go to school when a lot of teachers are reluctant. Why force them? They can teach virtually. No one said he’s a fascist for this.

According to this logic: Forcing kids to attend classes for attendance is authoritarian, but forcing kids to attend classes because the President demands it is not.

No, attendance shouldn’t be a requirement. Finishing the work and getting the grades is what’s important. Here’s an example. I was threatened by the school because I took my daughter out of school for 8 school days to go to Germany on a trip. She learned more in 2 weeks in Germany than she would have learned in 3 months in school in my view. That said, she got her assignments and did the work but the school threatened me because their funding was at risk because she wasn’t present. That’s BS and it needs to stop.
Again, Trump is no authoritarian. He’s not making a law requiring it, he’s doing the same thing that every other President and Congress has done for the last 80 years… withhold federal funding for not abiding by federal guidelines.

No one is forcing a damn thing. He’s using sticks and carrots like ALL Presidents do. Were you against Obama threatening funds over transgender bathroom rules? History is FULL of Presidents and Congress trying to force action by withholding funds. Were they ALL authoritarian?
My party doesn’t want to lock up reporters or sue social networks or tell people which brand of pinto beans they should eat. My party doesn’t send cease and desist orders to news networks who post polls they don’t like. My party doesn’t commute or pardon felons because they’re helping our leader hide his corruption. My party isn’t trying to control what medical services are available to women. My party isn’t telling people if they can have a job or get married or adopt a child based on their sexual orientation. My party doesn’t withhold federal aid to states because their governor doesnt worship our president.
Trump is a weak ass embarrassing failure of an authoritarian, but he’s trying to be one nonetheless. And the Republican Party owns him now. You guys made a terrible, terrible mistake that will haunt you for generations.
