The choice really belongs to Iran. They could immediately shutdown Hamas and sue for peace with Israel. Israel would be happy to oblige them. The current situation is untenable and Israel has no choice but to respond.

Israel is currently at peace with all of their Arab neighbors who really want peace. The exceptions are Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Lebanon and Assad in Syria.

Each of those is funded and armed by Iran. Iran is the main culprit here, not Israel.

What can they do Hamas is next door. I couldn’t imagine having to deal with that nightmare.

As for the solution there is no solution the two state is gone there was a chance for it but was turned down, things have changed dramatically since. It should quit being brought up as a valid argument. At best they could hope for a three state solution as the west bank doesn’t want to be part of Hamas and vice versa. It’s like trying to get bloods and crips to share the same territory.

i disagree. a two state solution is still possible. the PA can and should accept peace with Israel and as the recognized Palestinian government Gaza becomes their problem. hamas would be certain to attack them and Israel can sit back and let them kill each other until the cows come home. heck, Israel could even feed the PA intel on hamas in gaza to make them more effective. for that matter, the PA could request military aid from Arab countries to help bring Gaza under control. The Arabs do seem to like killing off some Persian proxies.
