Ever hear of the Deir Yassin massacre.

Bloody hands on both sides.

A pox on both their houses.

Hamas is no way in any part the good guys unless maybe if they were fighting ISIS they are really that low on the bar. Obviously I have sympathy for the citizens of Palestine who have to deal with this, but they elected the beast, not sure if they can get rid of Hamas now even if they wanted to.

I’ve never read or listened to any material from Hamas. The position I have defended here is one I developed outside of this context.

And yet it is in lock step with Hamas’s propaganda. Go figure.

Mao: “I like kittens.”

You: “Anyone who likes kittens is in lockstep with Maoist thought.”

No it doesn’t.

With your comments, your sympathies obviously rest with Hamas’s actions over Israel. This has nothing to do with whether someone in Hamas might or might not like kittens.

Nothing the Irgun did compares to the 1936 Arab revolt if we are talking about crimes against humanity.

Because the Qur’an says in some places to compel whoever rejects Muhammed to submit to Islam, and if they will not, slay them. They feel the same about every worldview that is not qur’anic.

My position is that killing human shields to get to the bad guy is wrong. No mention of place or time. If we were in the 1970s, then maybe this would in reference to the Vietnam War. If this were the 2000s, then maybe this would be in reference to the Iraq War.

When your opponent forces you into these circumstances, what must be done must be done.

It is naive to think otherwise.

War is ugly. And humans have to do things that are… ugly… to end it as quickly as possible to minimize the suffering.

I mean, can you give an example of any militarized conflict since inception of civilization that didn’t have some civilian casualties ? Especially when conducted in urban areas. I’ve already mentioned the carpet bombing of Berlin in 1945 earlier.

When your opponent forces you into these circumstances, what must be done must be done.

I guess hamas is taking your advice too. The opponent for Hamas is Israel. Hamas is doing what must be done by using human shields. That is sad. It would seem that the good guy can stand out and make the right decision.

No one is forced to use human shields.

There’s no moral equivalence there. At all.

So what…

And exactly what decision would that be?

Exactly what Hamas and all other terrorist thugs are hoping. They are counting on you and others like you to support their actions.

The king David hotel bombing comes to mind.

Dirty hands on both sides.

Whose hands are dirtier?

That won’t be decided in this forum.

Cool tautology.

Why did Israeli troops enter a mosque to shut down loud speakers that call Muslims to prayer.

So that the Israeli president could speak without interruption at the west wall.

That’s kinda lame and not enlightened.

Allan

What does hamas shoot rockets at Israeli civilians?

Not enlightened.
