It’s counterproductive discussing this with you.
I know exactly what BLM is and what it stands for.

no, all men are not created equal…
people are created (born) with limitations and “defects” - both mental and/or physical all the time… do they have the “same” legal rights provided the finances for proper council? arguable… but are they actually equal? I don’t think so…
(edit- they call it “special” education for a reason)

No, you don’t. You think you do.

Completely ignore the context. How convenient. Come on man!
if you limit the definition of “equal” in the phrase “all men are created equal” to mean “all men are created with the same access to government agency” you may have a point… I think equality means something more …

Ok, we can ignore the context for a bit. Because it’s you.
What more?
nothing more really… you asked me to change your mind on the fulfillment of the vision of “all men are created equal”… we can’t agree on the definition of “equal” (which in itself shows another created inequality, yet I digress)

Ok then, have a nice day.
Lol. I do think I do. And you think I don’t.
A simple disagreement.

So long as that right doesn’t involve carrying a gun or that choice doesn’t include school, or that speech isn’t offensive to Libs, or that right to life doesn’t include the unborn, or that right to practice religion doesn’t include public displays, yeah, Libs and Liberals are practically synonymous…

Did you read any of the formal definitions I posted?

I also posted a definition. It is the one I use.

This is what I as a liberal believe.

Do you believe the government can force people to wear masks? If so, how does your definition apply?

And I prefer working off the historic and classical meaning as I said:
“Classical liberalism is a political and economic ideology that advocates the protection of civil liberties and laissez-faire economic freedom by limiting the power of the central government. Developed in the early 19th century, the term is often used in contrast to the philosophy of modern social liberalism.” (Emphasis mine.)
Do you support the current public education system? (I’m sure the answer is yes.) The current public education system in NO WAY maximizes the freedom of choice. In liberal states like NJ one pays very high taxes for a cookie cutter education system controlled by a worthless DOE that offers one very few choices. A more LIBERAL system would be one in which each family were given vouchers and one in which the private market could develop schools that tailored to the interests and abilities of their customers (students). This is just one example, are you not aware of the many things government forces people to do? Coercion is the antithesis of liberty.

Do you realize there is a health emergency going on right now?
Abe Lincoln suspended habeas corpus during the civil war.
It a war against the virus. Or do you not understand public health at all?
Allan
I realize it all. Just seeing how far you really believe in “freedom of choice”. Fact is, Liberals are very good at making choices for people because they feel it is best for everyone. There is a word for that and it starts with an A. Of course the vast majority of politics involve some sort of Authoritarianism, but own it, don’t pretend your for freedom of choices when we have so many laws enacted by both parties that are opposite of freedom of choice.

The cookie cutter public education system that leads the nation. Lol.
Best live in Alabama or Mississippi to find out how poor low tax states public education systems truly are.

Rationalizing it away when things get tough is not liberalism. It is authoritarianism.
