What Is Alito Doing?

From his comments, I can’t tell what he expects. When I first read it, I heard “Attention in the hen house! This is one of the foxes! Be careful we don’t eat you!”

“In certain quarters religious liberty has fast become a disfavored right,” he said. “For many today, religious liberty is not a cherished freedom. It’s often just an excuse for bigotry and it can’t be tolerated even when there’s no evidence that anybody has been harmed.”

Is he setting up a ruling justification? Warning governors off?

I like Thomas’ term “diminished right” better than “disfavored”.

A SCOTUS thread mentioning the 1st Amendment and nothing?

Since the GOP cannot pass policy, they will adjudicate their policy.

Well it wasn’t much, but it was something. Thanks.

Oregon did legalize opium for the masses, the rest of the Marxists will follow suit

I didn’t realize drug legalization was a Marxist issue.

He is showing himself as the biased political hack that he is.

“Tolerance for opposing views is now in short supply,”

Where has he been, this has been going on now for seven or eight years.

Alito was speaking in favor of religious liberty… what is religion to a Marxist?

Oh, you were using a colloquialism. Okay…

Wut? Religious liberty?

Thanksgiving is not a religious holiday. In fact it is a myth based on a myth.

He mentioned casinos and churches.

What matters is perception and the overall perception is that it’s a religious holiday to thank The Lord for His many blessings…hence…Thanksgiving.

I almost want to start a thread on how silly this premise is in some ways but may be closer to thanksgiving.

I don’t want to derail this thread

Then…simply answer, who are Christians giving thanks to and the rest is ezpz?

It is not a religious holiday. You are confusing the saying of grace with a holiday which has the word thanks in it.

What ever…it’s both a holiday and the Christians celebrate it for religious reasons. Now call it what ever you choose but me…we’ll be giving The Lord thanks on that day…and…it’s a paid day off. Now meditate on that. :sunglasses:
