Do you not depend on corporations for your livelihood?
Airlines are begging for a bailout, but they've used 96% of their cash flow...
Companies of all types have long been accused of using excess capital to enrich shareholders over all else.
Do you not depend on corporations for your livelihood?
ImRightYoureWrong:Boeing has about 550million shares and declared recently a $8 dividend per share. That’s about $4.5 billion per year.
Over 10 years that’s almost $50bil.
Boeing’s annual operating expenses are about $80bil.
So, over 10 years by getting rid of their dividend, which wouldn’t affect consumers, they can establish a 6 month rainy day fund.
I win
Boeing in not an airline.
You lose.
Poned
The Republicans in Congress in crafting a bill that heavily favors the big corporations over the workers staffing them
So the republican bill helps employers and employees? What’s wrong with that?

There is nothing in to ensure the corporations dont use the money for stock buybacks and bonuses like they did in 2008. This has been explained to you multiple times now, it really isnt that hard
Boeing in not an airline.
You lose.
Southwest airline has 539mil shares
$0.18 dividend.
That’s about $100mil annual in dividend payouts.
$20bil operating expenses
6 months $10bil
The company was established in 1967. Their dividend started in 1976.
So, they’ve had their almost 50 years to build up a $5billion cash cushion and to slow their growth/operating expenses to get at least a 3-6 month rainy day fund.
You lose.
That’s almost 55 years to build up a responsible cushion.
Maybe they shouldn’t have created so many liabilities over their 60+ year existence and planned for the future a bit better.
You know, like workers have to do over their 50 year working careers.
You lose.
mobulis:16 billion in profit. Yep they can afford it.
Who told you that is plenty of money? So that’s what? Maybe two billion for an averaged sized airline? Do you think that money would last more than a week or two? Based on what?
16 billion in profit. Yep they can afford it.
Oh. And southwest airlines last year had a free cash flow of about $3billion. 5 years of saving that gives them almost an annual rainy day fund

Yes it is
The airlines make over $16 billion in profit a year
That’s enough to almost fund southwest airlines for a year. How many more airlines are there? Let’s add up the years.
Too bad they have been so irresponsible not having a rainy day fund these last 50 years
