Slaves working in the field… under captivity

Don’t bother.

Yep, but not necessarily in chains while being whipped as you are suggesting was the norm.

Where did I suggest this?

That pretty well sums up the answer to OP question. It’s obvious that some people don’t want to listen to any answer that does not fit their preconceived opinion no matter how many times one explains it to them.

It’s because you are unequivocally incorrect. Like laughably so.

At this point you are just digging your heels in because you don’t want to admit you are wrong. Like unbelievably wrong.

I am not incorrect. All slaves were not physically mistreated by their owners. It is propaganda to perpetuate the falsehood that they were.

And digging in heels works both ways. You have stubbornly refused to even consider that your belief regarding the treatment of slaves might be wrong.

You said it was propaganda that slaves were treated well.

Not that they all weren’t physically beaten. Whipped. Starved. Just that some were treated “well”.

I never made a claim to say they were all whipped. Even though whipping isn’t the only physical abuse they all suffered.

That’s almost right … This is what I actually said in context:

Cool so you confirmed I never said slaves were all physically beaten or whipped.

You also quoted exactly what I said you did.

It’s not propaganda to say slaves weren’t treated well. They were in captivity. Beaten or not… that’s not my definition of “well”

It’s not a blind spot.

“Yes, but” arguments undercut the “yes” part of the argument every…single…time.

You need to just stop at “Chattel slavery was an abomination”.

Period.

PS The peonage that arose by the South instituting Black Codes to take advantage of a loophole in the 13th Amendment was almost worse, though.

You are stuck in a rut. Read both your statement and mine again. Neither says what you are saying now.

You don’t get to tell me to stop.

During my undergrad years, my “crew” consisted of a native American, an African-American, a gay man, and a straight-up blonde white guy. We never discussed “identity” or “oppression” - we just clicked and that was that. According to today’s Democratic Party, that makes me a white supremacist.

Should Jewish people just move forward from the Holocaust?

Or should we still learn about it today.

“Never forget”

If some of my family was thrown in concentration camps, gassed and cremated should I just get over it and move forward.

There are some really deep scars from that.

I knew a survivor. (RIP Peter) with a tattoo on his arm. Never talked much about it. He was in a world of pain his entire life.

What are you saying here? Maybe I’m missing something. Seems like plain English to me.

I’ve never even hinted that those individuals affected by a traumatic past simply move on. My argument focuses on politics and the left’s use of race as a political weapon.

So you think the bringing up racial incidents that happened in the past and puts the United States in a bad light is just for political gain?

If so, I have an opposite opinion of yours.
