Last weekend mike pence flew to Ireland for meetings with Irish officials in Dublin
Rather than staying at a Dublin hotel and at the encouragement of trump, pence stayed 159 miles away at a trump property and flew to Dublin each day for his meetings.
It’s like a mob underboss paying tribute to the boss

Though I did read a Pence spokesman say that the unique footprint of Pences trip was the reason why Trumps hotel was used. LOL gosh I am sure I have heard this before.
Ethics and compliance at its most basic level tells you to avoid even the perception of unethical behavior.
If this was a democrat President I would be saying the same thing and that is what bothers me, Trump jas lowered the bar for future presidents fo get away with this crap.
Would it be so hard for Trump to say he does not want anyone part of his administration to use his hotels when traveling on business.

It’s a news story I listened to a couple of days ago. The conference is near their ancestral home so the extended family all came along, he/they are paying their own bill.
There isn’t a sniff of scandal here.
