Pretty short memory you’ve got there.

First, there was the push to portray Barrett, a federal judge and former Notre Dame law professor, as a stealth religious fanatic out of “The Handmaid’s Tale,” the book and TV dystopia in which America is ruled by a misogynistic cult. The only connection seems to be her membership in an ecumenical Christian group, People of Praise, in which some women hold a (leadership) post formerly called “handmaid.”

Then, Barrett got slammed for saying she doesn’t discriminate based on “sexual preference.” Detractors claimed that the term, supposedly implying choice rather than innate orientation, was not only dated but a “dog whistle” signaling anti-gay views.

Others targeted Barrett’s “originalism,” the philosophy which holds that the Constitution and other foundational laws should be interpreted according to their text and their framers’ intent, not current social norms.

Hopefully, the 9th and 10th Amendments continue their comebacks.

It’s the truth. No one here gives their preferred pronouns, talks about being triggered or acts “woke”. You know how I know this? Snowflakes like that cannot tolerate reading contrary viewpoints and cannot stand being challenged. A lot of us are Liberals, sure, but we are here to be challenged and not live in a bubble.

“African-American”

You also have modern medicine to combat it, otherwise you. would probably be dead instead of posting here.

Second

What in the ■■■■ is the “bodily autonomy” referenced by the dissenting students?

What in the ■■■■ is that?!

Here are state by state requirements for vaccinations to enter public schools:

University and college requirements may vary by state & institutions, but many require proof of measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) or a lab report showing immunity to enroll.

At least some nursing programs require proof of three part Hepatitis B vaccine. What in the ■■■■ is this “bodily autonomy”, and where is it offered?!

Either get the two part vaccine or wear a mask and get tested or enroll in courses online.

I agree with the OP title. Thank you Amy Coney Barrett. You’ve shown sensibility in this decision.

That’s why I love it here, the variety. Any and all are welcome—liberal, conservative, libertarian or POV may vary depending on the issue, religious, atheist, straight, gay, black white brown everybody get to those keyboards and attack the issues

I find over the years I may be open to a liberal POV on some issues and may be leaning towards the libertarianism of my neighbors. They’re truly wonderful in this part of the Commonwealth—if whatever you’re doing doesn’t affect their properties or getting to their day jobs, they don’t care about it.

That’s the beauty of the forum, being challenged and maybe opening up a little to opposing viewpoints.
