not true. it was fairly stable from 91 to 2007 (66.2 to 66.0) then dropped following the great recession and throughout obama’s term long after the recession was over because of his policies, it increased in trumps term until covid because of his policies. there has been no decades long slow decline, just the great recession and obama. it will go up again, wage inflation ensures it. lets see how the ue rate does when the participation rate starts going back up. ue will stay low for a while, but inflation is the cancer that will kill it.
increasing the participation rate while lowering ue with wages increasing more than inflation is a sign of healthy growth. trump did that.
Labor participation rate increased under Biden. And UE is dropping. By your measure… Biden is doing it right.

My assertion that it’s due to the participation rate was certainly incorrect.
As noted earlier, I consider a dropping unemployment rate as a positive thing, regardless of the cause.
However I stand by my opinion that this isn’t Biden’s doing. It is certainly happening on his watch, but it’s not due to any policy or initiative of his.
