Viruses are blind to state’s borders.

That evidence is cloudy at best.

There are experiments that show you do have at least temporary immunity. Mostly in animals (Rhesus monkeys) but also supported by the fact that plasma infusions from recovered patients to sick patients is an effective therapy.

Let me be clear when I post this. I am not a expert and i dont know. I will not “Defend” or take a position that you can or cant.
Im simply pointing out that its not yet accepted that you get it once and its over. I hope you cant.

agreed. My only point is we dont know for sure.
Which is a issue.

Thank you.

Well, 100K deaths is the price America has to pay, right? 3 months from now America might be returning back to some sense of normalcy, but those 100K dead, they don’t get to go back to work, or eat at a restaurant, or see their wife/husband.

Price to pay for what?

Stopping the shutdown and going back to work, just as the OP said.

While I dont agree with the OP -I DO think this is the discussion we should be having.
Most models show the last states will hit their peak in June. so what comes next?
Its not going to be a “everything is over”.
And i dont support saying "We will just lock down again in Sept / Oct when it comes back.

We should be taking about this. How do we do more tests? What guidelines do we do for those at high risk? What can we do between now and Sept to be better prepared? What kind of tracking can we do for outbreaks? What can our rapid response be? Who do we test and when?

The discussion SHOULD be that we will be in lock down between 30 and 60 more days depending on state and area and then this is what we will do between now and then. And what we do after lock down until a vaccine.

An Economic Czar?

To add to my last post. This is where everyone reacts vs discuss. I love politics but i hate this part.

Talk to everyone 1 on 1 and 99% will say same thing. We cant stay locked down until a vaccine. We need to discuss what comes next. We need to discuss end dates and mitigation.

But then someone says “By Easter” so the other side screams “Until a vaccine!” and then the 1st side screams “You want to Kill the economy for ever” and the other side screams back “You are putting profits over people”.
And somehow, we now all have a side on a pandemic.
How are there a side on a pandemic!

I am going to have to agree with @conan …Everything and I mean everything points to April 15th to May 1st for most states to be the time when peak cases and peak deaths occur. Right now is the time where we need to be distancing the most. If we break from that right now. Our Peak will increase exponentially and even more overwhelm the medical system.

STAY THE COURSE…The president made a good decision pushing this back to April 30/May 1. It is based off the same outside information I have been following this week. IHME…the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation has a great device that lets you see the preparation, the excess or shortage of beds in each state, when the peak is…what the predicted peak death looks like

ICAM the shut down is not sustainable and the United States was not built to shut down in times of turmoil and we have never responded this way to far more serious health crises in the history of the country and we should not be doing it now.

This is a glimpse of what leftist “progressive” Democrats have in store for America because it’s Democrat Governors issuing power hungry private business closure mandates which can only get worse as Americans become complacent to socialist tyranny.

It’s got to STOP sooner then later!

Ah, thanks. What number would be acceptable for you?

Then why are we locked down now?

remaining alive is a good start…

Zero.

I would get tested to see if I had it. I could very easy had it. I had mild symptoms back i early January believe it or not. Thought it was a cold…my grand niece gave it to me. She’s goes to school and her mother is nurse.

I have no doubt this virus was here long before they first claim it was.

Which tells us immune system works on it. Again not medical expert just basing it off what little I do know.

No…we might have already hit our peak out here in my state.
