I use them a lot. That’s the best way to stay proficient in case I need to use it to protect myself. Haven’t you ever heard the expression “practice makes perfect”? They say it takes 10,000 repetitions to get it down pat.

Killing does not equal murder. Some killings are perfectly justified. That said, the vast majority of them will never be used to kill anyone. And I applaud when they are used to protect the life of innocents. Have that sign up on your lawn yet?

Then your either killing a living being or destroying an object, unless your just shooting at nothing.

And? Sometimes living beings need killing and I don’t see the problem with destroying objects.

Which are inanimate objects. Which you said “kill” people.

Those parameters also apply to what I posted.

People are “killed” by those objects also.

Nope their not made to.

Doesn’t matter. It follows your statement.

No it doesn’t.

Don’t hurt yourself with that comeback.

I am sure what things are made to do or not do is of great comfort to people who die using them.

Nope. Nothing is killed or destroyed when I shoot. Poking holes in paper and aluminum can does not destroy them. Sometimes I shoot at sticks floating in the river, or dark spots (rocks or shadows maybe) on the 300 meter berm at the range … still nothing gets killed or destroyed. At most, you could say damaged.

That is clearly and demonstrably not true

How can guns save lives? According to you, they are an inanimate object. But if guns save lives; equally true is guns kill people.

Then demonstrate it.

Here is a scenario that perhaps could be investigated by any USA citizen or legislator who is concerned about gun violence in the USA. Since Samm has confirmed that guns and ammunition are not exempt from taxation (see Samm’s post below), it raises the possibility that a sales tax rate of 1.000.000% on firearms and ammunition would not in any way run foul of the 2A.

That’s ridiculous. The sale of guns and ammunition is no more exempt from taxation then is food, drink, clothing, shelter and medicine.

You’re a smart guy. I am sure you can use some of that imagination of yours to come up with numerous scenarios where guns can save lives. And if you can’t, you can Google it and find scores of real sitiations where it occurred.

Do you have a point there?

You have said unequivocally that guns do not kill people, people kill people. On that basis it is a nonsense to claim “guns can save lives”. By your logic it must be “people save lives”. Guns play no part in the saving of lives according to your logic.

Assuredly.

But is attempting to.
