You can cherry pick verses to make it say just about anything you preconceive or misunderstand.

To learn, first be born again, then follow the above verses. Only then will you gain wisdom grasshopper… Ignorance is not your friend.

Basically. Adultery is one of the biggest sins in the Bible, yet they elect a serial adulterer. They simply pick and choose what to care about. No moral consistency. I’m sure Jesus would be all for turning away Christian immigrants at the border seeking asylum and he would be giddy over capitalistic Darwinism. Religion is a ■■■■■■■ joke.
Most pro-lifers also happen to be against a welfare state. So they’re going to force women to go through pregnancy, but shrug if it starves after.

The old covenant still applies to Jews who reject their Messiah, Jesus Christ. And every one of them who reject Christ will have to pay for the Mosaic laws they have broken. Jesus-followers are set free from the Mosaic Law and it’s commands, so you are straw-manning to criticise Christians not keeping Moses’ laws.

Sure. I grew up in a conservative Christian household. I learned the evangelical tricks and twisted logic. I then developed critical thinking skills and no longer worry about deriving fear and meaning from a 2000 year old book. Again, whatever makes you feel better.

The Bible actually says lots about people’s foolishness and ignorance. Proverbs is chock full of some of my favorites.
Ignorance is only a lack of knowledge about something. There are many more things that I am ignorant of than things I know anything about.
The other day, I was listening to Conservative talk Radio. I laughed so hard after this, because it was so funny to me.
But it said something to the effect that a Priest wouldn’t give communion to a couple of Democrat Politicians, because they had supported Abortion, and that the Catholic Church doesn’t support Abortion.
You know what I thought!!!? I thought! Finally! A Man of Religion, and a Man of God sticking up to the Democrat Politicians, and what they’re true stance supposedly is!
I wish they could make that man the freaking Pope! lol. Or at least a high up Bishop!
Maybe the Democrat Politicians would act differently, if they weren’t getting blessed still for what they’re doing.

Christians use the old testament against people all the time. Pick and choose.
It’s not logical to attribute the characteristics of particular members of a group to the whole group generally.
Those who have sealed their agreement to the New Covenant through faith in Jesus Christ are under the NC statutes. Those who have not sealed their agreement to the New Covenant are under different statutes. Non-Christian Jews under Mosaic Law. Gentiles under reciprocal law: what they condemn others for, they will be condemned for in return
I wonder if this priest stood up or spoke out against the molestations that was systemic within his organization for decades. If he didn’t then he’s a colossal sized hypocrite

Reminds me of the story of the mafia don who was organising his son’s funeral with his parish priest. Don Capone offered to give the priest 50,000 dollars if he would say during the eulogy, “Joey was a saint.” The priest took the money and agreed.
At the funeral the priest said, “Joey was a murderer, a drug trafficker, a womaniser and a thief, a liar and an abuser of children, but compared to Don Capone Joey was a saint.”
