Newly elected Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi raised eyebrows among her liberal colleagues Thursday; quoting former President Ronald Reagan during her acceptance speech before the House of Representatives.
Pelosi addressed the chamber just moments after securing her leadership post; calling Reagan’s last speech before leaving office a “beautiful” vision for America.

“Let us remember what President Reagan said in his last speech as President of the United States… I urge you all to read it, it’s a beautiful speech,” said Pelosi.
“He said if we ever close the door to new Americans, our leadership in the world will soon be lost,” she added.
