Agreed. What I heard Him say was, “my kingdom is not of this world”.

John 18:36-37

36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

…and we hear His loving voice loud and clear.

Now consider that many in Israel want the 3rd Temple rebuilt.

Minister calls for third Temple to be built

Until this happens, this can’t.

14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

This has now been modified;

In the Vatican document released today, “Supplicating Trust” or Fiducia Supplicans, the Holy Father is not changing church teachings to allow so-called “same sex” marriage. The church has always taught that marriage is a union between one man and one woman who are open to having children. Obviously, this definition of marriage cannot apply to same sex couples.

The document released today affirms that, while allowing a priest or deacon to ask God to bless couples that need God’s grace, mercy and love, blessings are different than sacraments or other rituals of the church. The recent teaching makes it clear that a Catholic priest can bless same sex or other unmarried couples as long as it is not a formal liturgical blessing and does not give the impression that the Catholic church is blessing the union as if it were a marriage.

I agree with this. There’s too much hate and this helps squelch that and I agree.

Or the verses refer to the destruction of the temple by the Romans in 70 AD.

Yes but that doesn’t then explain the second coming and the tribulation? That’s why I’m concluding that the temple would have to be rebuilt first.

What is the holy place today? The church. I believe the false prophet comes out of the church and presents himself as a Christian.

The Temple

With the destruction of the earthly temple in Jerusalem (where God dwelt with his people - the Jews, AD 70), Believers were being built into a Spiritual House by adding living spiritual stones - Believers, to the Spiritual Temple.

" . . . . . .but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the Apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the Cornerstone in whom the Whole Structure is joined together and grows into a Holy Temple in whom you also are Built into it for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit." Ephesians 2

"you are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, " Ephesians 2

You also as Living Stones, are being built up a Spiritual House for a Holy Priesthood to offer up Spiritual Sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 2:5

The Jews had physical priests serving in the Temple in Jerusalem, in God’s new spiritual house, every member is a Priest that makes up God’s Holy Priesthood. As priests, we talk directly to God. We don’t go through a priest or any other middle man. Jesus made that way for us possible by His resurrection.

"But you are a chosen race, a Royal Priesthood, a Holy Nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His Marvelous light."1 Peter 2:9

God’s Holy Temple is made up of people from the foundation up. The Apostles and Prophets the foundation.

Mark 14:58 "We heard him say, 'I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another, not made with hands.’ Christ Jesus - Cornerstone of the spiritual temple.

Acts 7:48 "the Most High does not dwell in houses made with hands; as the prophet says,"

God has been adding believers to His Spiritual Temple for almost 2000 years.

As far as my Christian faith goes, I understand that when I was baptized by the Holy Spirit, my body became the temple. What I am attempting to discuss, is outside of that where it isn’t spiritual, it’s historical. My current conclusion is that prior to the 2nd coming of Christ, my Biblical interpretations indicate that a new temple may very well be built in Jerusalem. Trump declared the US recognition of Israel’s capital is now Jerusalem which is a giant start in that direction…again…IMHO.

As always though, watching together with my Brothers and Sisters in Christ is my viewpoint.

I believe that spiritual Kingdom is all there will ever be. Some of the ones living when Jesus walked the earth didn’t recognize Jesus as their King. They were not expecting their King to be an humble carpenter. They were looking for a King dressed in splendor with an earthly throne with an earthly kingdom filled with riches. People are still looking for that today.

Jesus said “My kingdom is not of this world.” I don’t think He made a mistake.
