First I heard that Trump’s not invited to McCain’s funeral. Now Palin is supposedly being told not to bother attending either, what’s up?
Was McCain this vindictive of a man, even at death’s door? Or is this coming from his family members?
When I heard about these requests not to attend, the quote “For hate’s sake, I spit my last breath at thee” came to my mind. It just seems very mean and petty to me.
I remember the question of those two McCain and Palin, having a some words during McCain’s run for presidency. Palin breathed some life into that campaign and McCain, I feel, took it as an insult. I remember a lot of us were wondering why Palin wasn’t the one running and McCain as v.p… He probably resented that.
Lets see here: Trump didn’t like Senator McCain. He called him a dummy and rejected the premise that he was a war hero.
Sarah Palin hurt McCain’s campaign by displaying great incompetency and now kisses Trump’s feet at every turn.
It does not shock me that the McCain family didn’t want to invite Palin.
It’s McCain’s funeral. He gets to invite anybody he wants. He wants to pick people who helped him out. He doesn’t want to pick people who were a constant torn in his back.
You’re talking about a guy who knowingly lied to get re-elected then spitefully and gleefully and in the most dramatic way gave a final “ screw you” to the American people with a thumb down - like a true ceaser.
He invited Obama to speak at his funeral and Biden as one of his pallbearer both were responsible for his second presidential loss. He also invited W to speak who was responsible for his loss…how is that being vindictive?
I can understand why he wouldn’t want Trump there. The day Trump besmirched his time as a POW was the day I decided Trump would never, under any circumstances, get my vote.
Besmirching the service of a vet as a Presidential candidate is one of the few ways a candidate can automatically be eliminated from my consideration. That goes double when said vet was captured or killed in the line of service.
So the gist is, people do think McCain was a petty man, and with his last breath he spit on Trump and Palin?
Why not let them pay respects? I could see allowing them to attend, but requesting they not make any public speech or comments at the funeral, but to be on your deathbed and ban people from simply paying their respects?
Maybe it’s just me, but I could not be that petty, mean and vindictive.
I am actually kind of shocked that a Christian man like McCain would act like this. McCain was a Christian. I’m not a practicing Christian, but I thought the Christian thing to do, was to be humble enough to forgive people?
Did you not witness McCain’s run for the president in 2008? There were a lot of people who said some horrible things about the man. Rep. John Lewis comes to mind, did McCain ban him?
Why ban Palin, she has never said anything bad about McCain as far as I know.
I just think this is all such a sad ending to McCain’s legacy. i thought he was bigger then this, that’s all.
