Outspoken Senator and potential 2020 candidate Elizabeth Warren unveiled key policy proposals that would likely be central to her run for the White House Wednesday; saying the United States needs to “cut back” on military spending.

We’ve got to responsibly cut back on defense spending. How? Let’s start by ending the stranglehold of defense contractors on our military policy. The defense industry will have a seat at the table – but they shouldn’t get to own the table. pic.twitter.com/j5OhBTEhPv

“The United States will spend more than $700 billion on defense this year alone… It’s more than the federal government spends on education, medical research, border security, housing, the FBI, disaster relief, the State Department, foreign aid… This is unsustainable,” said Warren.

“How do we responsibly cut back? We can start by ending the stranglehold of defense contractors on our military policy,” she added.
