If the Russians are being truthful, yes it’s been but one line.
The other main line is they want the land bridge to Crimea and pretty much complete control of the Black Sea. And it shows their resolve to keep Ukraine out of NATO.
Will be interesting to see what their response is if Finland and Sweden decide to join NATO.

There are multiple lines-reasons. A strike on the damn would have resolved but one, temporarily at best. The Ukrainians probably would have rebuilt in a week and the EU would have paid for it.

The truth of the matter is the only way this is going to be resolved is by a deal, but the situation has progressed to a point where that’s not possible…yet.
