Oh absolutely. No doubt about that. And strategically it worked out great as a check against Russia.

Maybe but was it anymore foolish that going into war with Germany for Britain? From what I read they didn’t save one person from the holocaust, Germany didn’t want a war with Britain that has been documented and after the war Britain lost everything along with most of it’s influence and colonies. Since WW2 they have slipped from a first rate power to a third rate power by today.
They could have just let Germany and Russia kill each other off since they were the two problems.
