I really don’t understand why Russia keeps doing this. I mean maybe do it a few times…but they are doing this day after day after day with horrendous casualties and no real gains in terms of land.

Any thoughts on why they would just throw meat into the grinder repeatedly?

We may not know the exact amount of Russian dead…but we do know that they have called up hundreds of thousands of conscripts…because they needed them due to losses on the battlefield.

I doubt if you actually know the reason for the callup. A plan to expand the operation or overcome the unending influx of weapons from 30 nations into Ukraine would necessitate a callup… regardless of present losses.

Because they have no way to force breakthroughs on the local level anymore.

The solution to the meat grinder problem is combined arms assault using armor and air power.

The Russians are so critically short of both armor and tactical air elements that they can’t force a breakthrough. Even if they had those elements the Ukrainians have proven to be experts and taking them out in short order. So Russia wants to maintain what they have.

Weak people feel helpless and frightened when they dont know. They would rather have a lie to hold on to than to feel that they have no knowledge.

I always thought this little vid of Richard Feynman was brilliant - even in ways he didn’t predict. He intended it to belittle beliefs in God. But it works both ways. And it works in the mundane world as well.

The recent Ukrainian drone strikes on Russia shows that Ukraine has the capability of attacking the occupier deep inside its own country. The red dot is where one of the attacks took place in Engels, Russia- 500 miles south east of Moscow.

Bring it on. I’ve got a good supply of potassium iodide, a year’s worth of food, ability to purify 100 times the water that I would actually need that’s been contaminated with viruses, bacteria, and radionucliotides, numerous supplies and the means to protect my meds, food, water, and supplies.

How quickly you choose to forget that the claim is that Putin is threatening the west with nuclear destruction. And yet, since Putin doesn’t seem to be inclined to do that, Ukraine will try to force it to happen.

I wonder if Obama the Brilliant foresaw in 2013/2014 that isolating Russia for trying to protect its children from LGBTQ perversion would lead to so much bloodshed.

Most Republicans in office, including party leadership, support supplying weapons to Ukraine, so focusing on Biden is just the usual partisan blah blah blah.

What claim? As far as I can tell, the Russian government has explicitly said they are not threatening the West with nuclear annihilation over Ukraine. Just this week Putin said their nuclear arsenal was preventing escalation, not provoking it.
