The saddest part of browsing ukranian news sites during this whole fiasco is not just the loss of life and cities and history but reading recipes being published on the site for quick food consisting of one or two ingredients and water….

Well…it tracks if you buy the “NATO made him do it” stuff.

For good reason. The invaders kicked up a lot of radioactive dust and nobody is able to measure how much.

One of the things I have been reading about Belarus is that some believe that Lukashenko doesn’t want to send any military support out of the country for the fear that if he does he won’t be able to put down a popular uprising like he did in 2020

Hmmm- that would track. I just assumed that the Belarus military told Lukashenko “no thanks” and threatened mutiny if he pushed the point.

Why should we offer anything if the simultaneous position is - “why should he even talk to us?”
This is where y’all get so tied up in knots over this.

This is sad. A Russian journalist was killed near Kyiv.
Will this be reported by Russia state media? Unlikely.

Is Dugin speaking Arabic? Fluently?

Better relations I wasn’t alive back during the Cuban missile crisis but I am glad cooler heads prevailed. Maybe offer them back in the market and sanctions gone if they leave Ukraine sign a deal no NATO for guarantee of never invading.
Just throwing it out there it could be whatever to give and off ramp to, usually we are the ones leading the way not letting Israel handle it. The rhetoric hasn’t helped if he won’t talk to Biden for calling him a war criminal maybe will talk to Germany I know Macron was trying to step up to the plate.

Did you get to the end where he said either Russia wins or Putin will use nukes and end the world?

We all saw Macron’s face whenever he got off the phone with Putin.
The dude isn’t looking for an offramp because he thinks he is winning.

I would guess all of that is on the table. But the sticking point for Putin is allowing Ukraine to have territorial integrity. Without that there is no possible off ramp.

Hmmm. Can’t imagine why he would say something so outlandish like that. Hmmm.
We’ve got to save at least some pearls. This may be a while guys.

At least Dugin gave the Trump supporters “a victory” by stating that this wouldn’t be happening if he was still President.
But not because he was “tough on Russia”.

Whether “pretzel logic” or not it is very human.
And a case study as to why hegemony was never a sustainable nor desirable strategy for the US.
Somebody always rises to challenge a hegemon.
Always…whether insane or not.

Putin could have continued along the path of having the West and the US eat itself up internally and been wildly wealthy for the rest of his days.
Two key mistakes he has made imo.
He struck at the exact wrong time and he stole way too much from his own country to strike,

Seems Putin won’t play the talky talk game called Diplomacy. So unreasonable!
