Maryland is famous for that, it should be stopped.
In Michigan we fixed it permanently. Started a petition and voted on Gerrymandering. It is now barred in the State Constitution. No matter who comes in they cannot change it without a new Constitutional vote, which will never happen. That is how you change things, don’t vote people in or out, change the law.
The largest racial issues that exist, that are having catastrophic effects, are cultural. Until families are united, with both parents lovingly and unitedly guiding their children into adulthood…our country will continue to go in the wrong direction…and this applies to all races. If you want proof, I present to you the Asian culture…that is the most prominent at doing this and the results speak for themselves.
I would argue that the current dissolution of the family can be linked to the loss of ability for one parent income covering the entire family’s expenses. When I was a kid my Dad worked in the garage at Sears and he paid for everything. We had health insurance, went on vacations, etc. Always had food on the table and nice Christmases.
Nowadays? No way that happens. Both parents need to work. Then who is home with the kids? How much stress does this bring? Families begin to fall apart. The loss of Union participation is a big factor here, my old man didn’t belong to one, but their wages lifted his wages because Sears didn’t want the unions to come in.
…and there’s a lot of truth to that too. That said, the Asian culture also must deal with this and yet their outcomes are far superior when it comes to educational success.
Maryland legislature is a majority Dimbulbcrat. Always will be. A constitutional change to prevent gerrymandering will never happen.
I lived in Maryland for 38 years after being a PA resident for 30 years. We bought our “retirement home” in Palm Beach FL in 2010 and finally moved completely 4 years ago. I couldn’t wait to get the ■■■■ out of MD.
America was founded on Judeo Christian principle.
This country has flourished under the watchful eye of The Almighty.
Do not be surprised when this gift is no longer that great gift because of the non believers.
Nope…
The founders who were most responsible for the founding documents (Declaration of Independence and Constitution) and who had the most influence were mostly theistic rationalists.
This has gone too far off topic of the thread. This will be my last post concerning this off topic.
Thanks for your response. Always inquisitive I looked up “theistic nationalism” and it led me to a new word “Deism”.
And in short the Founders rejected Puritanical Christianity the kind that brought the Salem witch trials but acknowledged Christianity’s existence.
Deism is a belief that religion should not be written into law. Or something like that.
Interesting
Theistic rationalists believe natural religion, Christianity, and rationalism typically coexist compatibly, with rational thought balancing the conflicts between the first two aspects. They often assert that the primary role of a person’s religion should be to bolster morality, a fixture of daily life.
Deists insisted that religious truth should be subject to the authority of human reason rather than divine revelation.
Why do you insist on lying? I even posted her wiki page with the dates.
“The 2020 presidential campaign of Kamala Harris, a United States senator from California from January 2017 to 2021, officially began on January 21, 2019, with an announcement on Good Morning America. Harris had widely been considered a “high profile” candidate for the 2020 Democratic Party presidential primaries since 2016. Citing a lack of funds, Harris officially withdrew her candidacy on December 3, 2019”
