Voting irregularities in GA primary

As the title suggests, there was a recent primary in GA in which several irregularities have been noted. One of the most notable is that 670 ballots were recently cast in a precinct where only 276 people are registered to vote. Another concern is that there were security flaws in the voter registration system that allowed manipulation of voter information. In another incident, a husband and wife who live at the same address were sent to 2 different precincts by the state’s “my voter page,” which gives citizens information on where to vote. Also, several complained that when they got to the precinct listed in that system, the precinct workers told them they were not registered in that precinct.

What makes this even more troubling is that the current Secretary of State, Brian Kemp, recently received the GOP nomination for governor. His office bears the responsibility for ensuring the integrity of the voting system in GA.

Could be. We really do need new machines here in GA at a minimum. Part of the current problem is that the current machines won’t let you print out paper receipts of the votes to audit them. That can make getting to the bottom of problems like this very difficult.

Wow. Looking at that story it looks like there is a failure up and down the entire system in Georgia.

This definitely needs to be investigated in my opinion. At the very least there needs to be an explanation how this situation could occur.

Too many hands + too high tech= too many errors and opportunities to corrupt the system.
