They are based on laws. If you want to change the laws, work to do so peacefully.

I have no doubt that slave patrol existed…I just doubt that reason behind policing was slave patrolling.

The state/city government didn’t want people to take up law enforcement or taking the law into their own hands.

Now you said

I believe there are some that don’t want to be hold accountable for their action…they feel entitled to do as they please even to point of harming, stealing, raping, murdering other people.

What? It prohibits slavery.

Even slave patrols were based on law.

No they aren’t. They are based on thug culture and societal norms.

Not it actually doesn’t prohibit slavery. Have you ever read the 13th amendment?

Against slaves, sure.

See all of those folks having fun? Like a Cinco de Mayo celebration?

Where are those folks you posted burning, looting, maiming and murdering?

Is it possible for you to see the difference?

 I see what you’re trying to do. I will amend; effectively ended slavery.

Slavery was legal.

Stop making so much sense

No, it just transferred it to another racist institution.

So were slave patrols…

Prisoners are not slaves.

Key word? Were.

Exactly. Which goes back to my original point. Modern Day Policing has its origins in Racism (slave patrols).

Just like an a calculator has origins to the abacus.

In fairness it also has its roots in controlling the “dangerous classes” for business owners, at least in the north, with a healing helping of racism directed at ethnic groups that weren’t considered white then but are now: Italians, Greeks, Jews sort of.

Wow…this Pennsylvania judge isn’t playing around. They’re making it clear they’re not Portland.

Little revolutionary wannabe need to raid their piggy banks.

And how many use an abacus today?

Al sharpton disagrees.

The fundamentals of an abacus exist in modern day calculators.

Just like the fundamentals of slave patrols exist in modern day policing

Excellent. :+1:

This “Summer of Love” and “Let them get it out of their systems” is a bunch of hogwash.
