Todays Epic Games free game is Mortal Shell. This is souls like game, again not one I have played but I picked it up.

The last free Christmas giveaway game tomorrow is pretty much confirmed as Dishonored. Though it could be the entite trilogy.

Regardless this is a nice fit with Amazon giving away Dishonored 2.

Replaying RDR2 for second time (first time was when it came out in 2018 so I’ve forgotten most of the story); this time on Series X

It is a strangely addictive and frustrating game. Played that one night with my mate for about 8 hours.

My problem with RockStar Games both GTA and RDR is that your character walks like he is wading through mud. I never did finish RDR2 but had a ton of fun with RDR Online.

We blasted through all the levels this week. Found out that most of the “tasks” you have to perform are troll tasks. You can just bypass most of them. It’s a good laugh.

I reinstalled Far Cry 5. Nothing like wondering the woods of Montana while drug fueled angels are chasing you. Going to try to go through the whole game with a crossbow.

When I played FC5 I couldn’t stop thinking how much like Mississippi their interpretation of Montana was.

FC3 is still my favorite of the series. I did enjoy FC5 but the ending was a bit crappy as it negated everything I had done from the start of the game.

FC4 has a pretty neat way to beat the game and I discovered that by accident while playing.

I’m the exact opposite; i don’t ever play online and don’t even pay for Live membership. I’m probably the only person there is who only plays Call of Duty in campaign mode.

These single player stories today are cool to me; better than a lot of movie plots nowadays, IMO.

I sub to Game Pass Ultimate which includes live. Because I am obsessive about Microsoft Rewards I have not paid for Game Pass Ultimate for years and have two years stacked.

As I have discussed before In its golden age the MS rewards program was raining points but a couple of nerfs over the years have made it less attractive but still a great rewards program. Currently I am at about 110,000 points which is equal to roughly $110 in Microsoft gift cards. My next goal with the rewards system is a 1TB memory card for the X. Then start using points to fund GPU subs.

I am also a member of the GameStop Pro rewards scheme. i use my monthly $5 coupon to buy an Xbox gift card. Stacking those codes to put towards my memory card.

One thing to bear in mind anytime you redeem MS points for a gift card you have to spend it within 90 days.

And dont get me started on my 2% cash-back for using Apple Pay with my Apple card. LOL.

Who doesnt love life hacks.

I agree that FC3 was the best - I just played through it again a year or so ago - and I have a lot of love for FC4 (I too discovered what you’re talking about by accident, due to a well-timed pizza delivery).

I’d put 3 and 4 ahead of 5, but I enjoyed all of them - the weird spin-off games too (except for Primal).

I didn’t love FC6.

I am with you on FC6. Tried a few times to get into it but its the most soulless Far Cry so far. Ubisoft has to stop bloating their games. I love open world games but after Valhalla I am burnt out with vast playing areas with meaningless tasks and inane collectibles.

I didn’t want to have to off faith seems like a detox center or psych ward could have been good optional choice added to the dialogue.

I agree with both points 3 was the best and the ending was lackluster at best on 5. I thought the way it ended there would be a part 2 or add on, but we get New Dawn which is another one they failed on imho in the story.

New Dawn was boring. Another game I never finished.

I am currently playing though Mafia Definitive Edition and what a treat it is to play a game that has an excellent story and no filler. The map is sort of open world but apart from collectibles no side missions.

Very linear game which I am really liking primarily because of the story and great cut scenes.
