Then make sure the person is sitting at least six fee away from you. Wear your mask.

Your boss did install a UV filter in the air conditioner, right? :flushed:

Well, which is it. Suggested or mandated.

Depends on where you’re out, but it’s not remotely relevant to the post.

The post concerned the effectiveness of two parties wearing a mask.

Not well. Still less than half the deaths of New York’s next door landfill.

You can trust medical experts all you want.

I remember eggs are BAD for you. Ooops they are GOOD for you.
Meat is BAD for you. Oooops, meat is GOOD for you.

The ICE AGE is coming. Ooops, no GLOBAL WARMING is coming

and the list goes on and on.

They are just as in the dark as anyone.

The cases are not going to subside. Maybe we’ll have a vaccine that helps somewhat but I wouldn’t bank on it.

So, you’re either going to have to get out there or stay holed up.

If a mask makes you feel better then wear one by all means.

That is completely uncalled for. Are you seriously wishing death on someone?

Do you hold yourself to the same standards?

Meaning, if you get something wrong at some point in your life, then no one should ever believe anything you say?

You think that’s prudent?

Do you acknowledge, that if you are sick and not symptomatic, that you could be walking around in public transmitting to others?

Do you mean do I practice personal responsibility? Of course.

Do I preach that I am some kind of guru? Not at all.

Do I get things wrong? Of course. But, I don’t publish studies touting myself as an expert and then expect not to be proved wrong.

Of course I could be transmitting. So could someone else. A mask isn’t going to protect me if I grab a gas handle to fill up my car then rub my eyes if I have a mask on, is it.

You don’t publish studies because (presumably) that’s not your job. And clearly you don’t have much experience… that’s what internal/external peer review is for.

This is odd. You just acknowledge two people coming into contact with each other could be unknowingly transmitting, and then you make some comment about a grabbing a gas handle. I don’t care if you grab a gas pump handle without a mask on. The question I asked concerned you coming into contact with another person, not some inanimate object that you choose to touch.

Does it truly inconvenience you that much?

Decades ago, riders in the Tour de France would sometimes smoke cigarettes during the race because it was believed at the time that it expanded and opened the lungs. Of course, now we know that to be nonsense… or do we? I mean they were wrong once, so is it actually true? You feel kosher picking up a new habit?

Last I checked, I believe Trump has been wrong on one or two things as well. You still give his statements/decision any credibility? If so, why?

Ho hum, that is why so many are debunked, right?

Not really. My point was masks don’t guarantee protection.

Not at all. I require them for anyone coming into my showroom. Plus, immediate hand sanitizing.

I like eggs, and I love meat. Avocado’s, too. I’m glad that whole thing was debunked.

Actions speak more volume than words. I love what he has done for this country.

Preventing disease is a public health issue.

And yes I would rat you out in an instant. Without even thinking.

It seems simple to you for calling 911 on fellow Americans for simply exercising their right to protest? Newsflash Protesting is legal.

Protesting is only one thing listed in the post I was replying to. That post also listed rioting, looting, and arson. All 3 of those could be considered illegal, depending on the municipality you are in. In fact, I believe arson is illegal in most municipalities.

In any case, it would be up to responding personnel to determine what was legal and what was not.

I realize what you were responding to.

It looked to me like the OP was bringing up a legitimate concern with govt over reach and spying on citizens by coercing neighbors to turn them in, and he was being ridiculed by telling him to call 911.

And they can always laugh it off.

Well, the survey is specifically for observing “public health violations.” It’s also from the Virginia Department of Health.

The OP said that they were surprised that rioting, protesting, looting, and arson were not on there. He is calling out a double standard.

It’s not so much that the virus is aggressive once it infects someone, but rather, the contagion factor. That is problematic for people who are immunocompromised, and for the elderly.

Vaccines cannot come soon enough, and I’m all for people wearing masks; but it should be promoted by each private business, not by the government. Or like the flu commercials, by each city/state’s department of health.

We also believed abortions were good, and that’s why Roe v. Wade was successful. But now we know that is bogus. Because it is based on a 1970’s view and definition of a “person.”

And by the way, people make mistakes. What defines them is how they handle it, if they own up to it and learn from it.

Things aren’t always in black and white.

Yes, I’m sure 911 operators always laugh off things like arson.
