What percentage was lost? Since it’s only a small patch we know the adhesive does work. Apparently there may have been a workmanship issue on that part of the skin.
Thanks and yes I am VERY proud of her

I’ve never felt as old and useless as I did in the days following 9-11 when I realized I couldn’t get back in.
This is HIGHLY unscrupulous and hard to believe it’s even legal.
Over fourteen million dollars just this election cycle.
This has been the case since the earliest days of the country. Navy contracts are huge job creators and states/districts have been battling over them for 200 years.
And it’s a massive conflict of interest.
Could have gone private…just saying
Instead I hired on with DOD as a civilian contractor. It isn’t the same.

One thing I will point out in light of all the responses in this thread.
This latest occurrence didn’t happen in a vacuum and must be considered in the context of similar failures. Problems with engines in newly delivered ships. Other significant problems.
Then the vast swath of corruption in the Navy, of which the Fat Leonard Scandal is only the most notable.
Then there is the sheer incompetence demonstrated that has resulted in two major wrecks and other minor collisions.
Altogether, it paints a very unflattering and troubling picture of the Navy.
If the Navy was humming along with no problems and suddenly this situation occurred, that might be one thing.
But in the overall scheme of things, it is just more evidence that the Navy has major problems.

Maybe she will get switched to an Arleigh Burke-class Destroyer.
Hell, I would rather pilot a garbage scow than a Little Crappy Ship.

Surely…for as much as “we” paid…it’s still under warranty?
