Ok.

Who decides?

How many movies are filmed where nobody dies?

I have never been on one where no one gets hurt.

And… no one should die because they are making a movie.

What do you do?

“Abuses”? Like what?

Why do you need a collective to defend you?

I was working at a theater in Virginia making $250 a week, pulling 60 hour weeks and making no overtime.

And my boss was a ■■■■■■■■

Lasted about a year and a half.

And As stated before.

Joining the Union has been clearly in my own self interest.

Why do you stay in such a horrible place.

No one should ever die.

That’s not abuse, you agreed to it.

Why do you need the government?

the formatting of this site bugs me sometime, im going to reply to all your questions though i like this discussion, although i hope you will spell out your position a little more clear instead of just asking questions.

“So you need the government to…” enforce fair labor laws and safety rules when there are disagreements between employers and employees. same with lawsuit rulings.

“what employer?” i was more or less referring to the union fights against the hired strike busters. the murder of Frank Steunenberg comes to mind, but he was a governor.

“who are you to characterize a good or bad owner?” an employee that has had a good boss and an employee that had a bad boss.

“do you have a 401k?” yeah it keeps growing too.

“safety rules by whom?” where i work before any safety or work practice rules can be changed it has to go through a review process by a safety committee of salary and hourly employees. people die from not following procedures. our workers know the procedures inside and out compared to our managers, so there have been times we have been told not to shut down a line, or not close a valve because of time, money, and or a managers inexperience. thankfully we cannot be disciplined for refusing to follow an unsafe order from our boss.

if im reading your posts right though, if it was your company and your equipment then your interests are first. who cares if a guy loses his arm so as long as you get yours?

Do you have any idea what those companies are doing so you can “grow”?

Then why do you need the union?

“Fair” is in the eye of the winner.

That’s right, my company and equipment. I care. The government doesn’t.

Who cares more than the worker with his arm next to the machine?

What do you know about being an owner?

In an ideal world, I would, but since an ideal world is only an idea, political authorities that are constrained using constitutions, structures that create balances, and elections.
