I am tired of all this winning! So the Trump train is going to close these training centers and jobs could potentially be lost. What is the point?
He’s ending jobs so he can create new jobs - or something…

The program — known for operating the Job Corps Civilian Conservation Centers — is being transferred to the Labor Department.
Not ending. Transfering the program to the Department of Labor. Better place for it wouldn’t you agaree?
Ummm no did you miss the part where it will be run by contractors?

The title says the program is ending.
It is not.
Forrest service is transfering the program to Department of Labor, and that department is continuing the jobs training program for at risk youth in a different manor.
So again – the program is NOT ending.
It’s being run by contractors and cuts will be made to people’s jobs… All that winning. Again there is no rhyme or reason reason they did this. I love this part
The Civilian Conservation Corps dates to the Great Depression but was disbanded during World War II. The current iteration was designed during the Johnson administration as part of its Jobs Corps effort. Today, thousands of young people aged 16 to 24 from low-income communities participate in the program.
■■■■ those poor people … I know I know they will get training still blah blah blah… If it ain’t broke don’t fix it
No. That’s not it. Not at all. He doesn’t need to create jobs. There are already 7 million open jobs available. Mission accomplished. And the president brought back millions of manufacturing jobs that Obama claimed were gone for good. Didn’t CNN tell you this?
Right now we don’t know that. Could be more private sector (but funded by government) jobs – could be less. Until the program is up and running hard to say how many jobs will be cut (forrest service is eliminating 1,000 jobs according to your aritcle, but many of them may go to different area’s in the forrest service.)
Right now the program only teaches one area of training. If under labor, thousands of you people from low income ommunities will get training in other area’s and possibly the same area of expertise to help them get jobs.
The article you linked to says they will still get training. Probably BETTER training.
The program isn’t going away as your title and OP suggest.
(Could go with misleading title like I was accused of in another threa
but I won’t).
Maybe the forest service like most other agencies is overstaffed?
The president can’t create new jobs outside of the government or the Trump organization. Those are the only two entities he controls that create jobs. In a similar manner, he can’t “bring back” jobs. Individual businesses decide where those jobs are to be located.
No? But maybe the President can perform magic then? Obama said that manufacturing was dead and not coming back. President Trump said that he would bring back manufacturing. Then it happened. Bigly. Five million? Seven million jobs was it? Abracadabra! Poof!

Can he create conditions/environment conducive to business?
Sounds like a good move coming from the guy that spent all last summer bitching about forest fires. The money saved can go to disaster relief from wildfires I suppose.
