I couldn’t get the article to load, but the premis is right on the mark. The first gun control laws enacted were to prevent blacks from arming themselves in the South following the Civil War.
There’s way too much common sense in that article for most people to take it seriously.
I’ve said for years that we have felonized far too much conduct in this country in which there is no real victim.
Regulatory felonies are an abomination plain and simple.
I also like the suggestion at the end of the article that it’s a civil rights issue and that any violation of possessing firearms or ammunition by anyone who can legally do so under federal law should be no more than a minor misdemeanor with a maximum fine of 500.00 or even less.
I’ve been having this conversation for years with progressive black friends - and some of the more politically prominent musicians (killer mike for example) have been on Bill Maher’s show etc discussing the history of black gun ownership and their issues with white liberals who see the issue in a totally different light. It’s an interesting issue, and honestly hadn’t seen this angle until my friends brought it up.
Chunks of both sides of the aisle have issues with only allowing the state to have arms. It’s a valid conversation.
You know, that’s a really good post. The more I study, the more I realize just how much we have been lied to by the ruling class and the media. It’s astounding. History has been re-written and the truth will eventually be lost forever.
The law abiding minority community should understand better than anyone how essential it is to be able to protect themselves both from the gov’t and the criminal element but democrats have done a bangup job of deceiving them for decades.
I’m more and more encouraged every time I take a class to the range in the DFW area to see that’s changing.
